Makayla & Luke’s Golden Hour Couples Session at Moncus Park | Lafayette, Louisiana


Their session had such a soft, romantic feel from beginning to end. Makayla and Luke were photographed during golden hour at Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the warm evening light gave us the perfect backdrop for natural, timeless portraits. From walking hand in hand near the water to quiet moments together on the bridge, their session felt relaxed, genuine, and full of personality.


One of my favorite things about couples sessions is creating space for people to simply enjoy each other instead of feeling like they have to constantly pose. With Makayla and Luke, that meant lots of movement, laughter, close-up moments, and simple prompts that let their connection come through naturally. The result was a gallery filled with both playful images and softer, more romantic portraits.


Moncus Park is always such a beautiful location for photos because it offers so much variety in one place. Between the open green spaces, water, trees, walking paths, and golden-hour light, we were able to create several different looks without ever needing to leave the park. The sunset reflecting off the water made the final part of their session especially beautiful.

Makayla and Luke chose light, neutral outfits that photographed perfectly against the greens and warm sunset tones. Their wardrobe kept the images feeling clean and timeless while still allowing the natural colors of the park to stand out.
